We recalled from David’s time, he was first the king of Judah (2 Sam. 2) and then the king of Israel (2 Sam. 5). Shortly after king Solomon, the kingdom was split into the North and the South. Then both kingdoms fell and the Israelites were scattered. There’s not a whole lot of time in the history that God’s people were living together in unity.
Yes, this was about the reality of political unity. But, are we doing anything better spiritually to pursue the peace and the fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ? In the night of the betrayal, Jesus not only had the communion with the disciples, he even washed their feet. Moreover, he gave a new command demanding them to love one another as a distinguishing testimony of God’s people. This command is still in action – what is our response?

(John 13:34) A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Ezekiel 43:1-26

Key Verse: (Ezekiel 43:7a) He said: “Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet. This step symbolizes the bridging of the holiness requirement between man and God, and the acceptance from Him. Reviewing and comparing His revelations in the scriptures, God never changes – the integrity of His characters, commandments, messages has been there and always will be there. It’s us that need to be renewed and transformed.

(Romans 12:1-2a) Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Lord, help us to love one another, help us to lead a life that is pleasing to you. Amen. 　　　— Ivy Lin

[6

post-3396","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-devotion-2019_2021
["GET
