Genesis 10:1-32<\/p>\n
The God that Restores<\/p>\n
The flood of Genesis 7 exhibited the judgment of God.
\nAs a holy God, He cannot be in the presence of sin.
\nAs a just God, he must punish the sinners.
\nAnd yet, as a God of love, He continues to extend his grace and the hope of salvation.
\nThis is the God we see in Genesis 10.<\/p>\n
Genesis 10 recounts the genealogy following Noah and his three sons, stating in verse 1 that \u201cunto them were sons born after the flood<\/strong>.\u201d And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, \u201cBe fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.\u201d <\/em>(Genesis 9:1) The unrighteous have perished, but God begins anew with the righteous, filling the earth once again with the sons of man from the seed of Noah. \nIn the aftermath of the flood, Noah and his family are the only remnant of God\u2019s people that survived. The rest of the world has been obliterated, but God has a plan. Three times in Genesis 9, God reveals his plan of restoration.<\/p>\n
\nAnd you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein. <\/em>(Genesis 9:7)
\nThese are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread. <\/em>(Genesis 9:19)<\/p>\n
\nWhat has been taken away, God restores in full.
\nWhile the culmination of God\u2019s restoration will take place at the cross in the blood shed by his Son, Jesus, in the meanwhile, God reveals his trustworthiness and his goodness, giving His people the assurance of hope in the midst of the tragedy of sin.<\/p>\n
\nWhat sin has He uncovered that you may be purified in the blood of the Lamb?
\nDo we dare trust and hope in the God that restores us and sustains us and desires to give us new life?
\nLet us boldly place our faith in Christ our Savior, becoming a new creation.
